The Andrea Trescot Scholarship for Excellence in Interventional Pain Medicine

For the 2026–2027 Academic Year, five (5) partial scholarships were made available through the EEMENA Pain Camp Scholarship Program.
Scholarship Allocation
Three (3) Partial Scholarships
Module 1: Interventional Approaches to Low Back Pain
Two (2) Continuation Partial Scholarships
Module 2: Interventional Strategies for Head & Neck Pain
Available exclusively to fellows who successfully completed Module 1 and fulfilled all academic progression requirements.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants were expected to demonstrate:
A strong commitment to the practice and advancement of interventional pain medicine.
Professional motivation, academic excellence, and leadership potential.
A clear vision for translating acquired knowledge into improved patient care within their institution or community.
Physicians practicing in underserved or resource-limited healthcare settings were particularly encouraged to apply.

Applicants were required to submit:
An updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
One Letter of Recommendation.
One Letter of Motivation addressing:
Why they wished to participate in the EEMENA Pain Camp Program.
How the educational experience would benefit their patients, institution, and region.
Any regional, institutional, or financial barriers to accessing advanced pain medicine education.

EEMENA Educational Access Fund
EEMENA Educational Access Fund
The EEMENA Educational Access Fund has been established to support qualified fellows who demonstrate strong academic commitment but face exceptional financial circumstances that may otherwise prevent their participation in the EEMENA Pain Camp Educational Program.
The Educational Access Fund is distinct from the merit-based Scholarship Program. Its purpose is to promote equitable access to high-quality pain medicine education while preserving the academic integrity, fairness, and governance standards of the Program.

Educational Access Fund Principles
Educational Access Fund awards are:
Subject to the availability of funding.
Intended for applicants experiencing exceptional financial hardship.
Awarded following an independent review of the applicant's eligibility and supporting documentation.
Assessed according to published eligibility criteria, including demonstrated financial need, academic standing, and commitment to successful completion of the Program.
Competitive, limited in number, and not guaranteed.
Independent of all merit-based scholarship programs and do not constitute an extension or reopening of published scholarship application cycles.
Governance and Review Process
Governance and Review Process
Applications are reviewed by the Scholarships and Educational Access Committee in accordance with EEMENA's published policies and eligibility criteria.
Final approval is granted by the Program Director following the Committee's review and recommendation. All decisions are made in accordance with EEMENA's governance framework and are documented to ensure transparency, accountability, consistency, and fairness in the allocation of educational support.

Scholarships and Educational Access Fund awards are separate support mechanisms with different eligibility criteria and review processes.
Receiving an Educational Access Fund award does not constitute a scholarship, and scholarship recipients are not automatically eligible for Educational Access Fund assistance.
Both initiatives are designed to uphold EEMENA Pain Camp's mission of expanding access to excellence in pain medicine education while maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and institutional governance.
