Dr. Sherry N. Fanous is the Founder, Program Director, and Lead Faculty of EEMENA Pain Camp. She currently serves as Executive Secretary of the World Institute of Pain – Middle East Section (WIP-MENA) and leads the Pain Management Departments at several prominent hospitals in Egypt. With multiple international faculty appointments, peer-reviewed publications, and appearances on global media, she is widely recognized as a key voice in the advancement of interventional pain care across low-resource regions.
Her vision for EEMENA is rooted in a deep commitment to education, equity, and regional empowerment. Dr. Fanous has led international campaigns offering interventional pain management to underserved areas, and she founded the Reach Out Program – MENA to expand access to structured pain education. At EEMENA, she brings her academic leadership and clinical expertise to guide a new generation of pain specialists across the region.
Dr. Pankaj N. Surange is the CEO and Director of IPSC Pain & Spine Hospitals in New Delhi, India, and serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board of the American Society of Endoscopic and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. He holds fellowships in spine endoscopy from Korea and Germany and is internationally recognized for his expertise in minimally invasive procedures, spinal stimulation, and vertebral augmentation.
At EEMENA Pain Camp, Dr. Surange leads the advanced procedural focus of Module 3, bringing his global perspective to the regional platform. His commitment to structured hands-on education aligns with EEMENA’s mission to raise the standard of interventional pain care across borders.
Dr. Helen Gharaei is an internationally recognized leader in ultrasound-guided pain interventions, with over a decade of experience training physicians across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. She is the founder of the International Sonoguide Pain School, a prolific contributor to the academic field, and serves on the editorial board of a leading pain journal. Dr. Gharaei is known for her pioneering work in interfascial plane dextrose hydrodissection and for developing the IRAN technique for spine injections—both of which have influenced clinical practice globally.
Her strong academic background and practical orientation make her a key contributor to EEMENA’s foundational modules. As an educator deeply invested in accessibility and innovation, Dr. Gharaei embodies EEMENA's mission of empowering education across borders. Through her clinical mastery and global outreach, she plays an essential role in shaping the next generation of interventional pain physicians.
Dr. Stelian Ilie Mociu is a university Professor assistant at Ovidius University of Constanta in Bucharest and a practicing anesthesiologist at Ovidius Clinical Hospital. He is a frequent speaker and trainer at national pain medicine congresses and holds certification in interventional pain management. His dual academic and clinical roles make him a strong advocate for evidence-based, practice-oriented education.
Dr. Mociu plays an essential role in connecting EEMENA Pain Camp with its host country. His leadership ensures that our hands-on training is both academically anchored and logistically well supported—reflecting EEMENA’s commitment to regionally rooted excellence.
